Physical Activity

Physical activity throughout your day is critical to the health of not only your body, but your mind and spirit as well. Grab a friend and go for a walk, or workout at the fitness center.

  • Indoor Walking Routes

    Four indoor walking loops, each .25 miles, are available for use any time at IUE—but especially in inclement weather! The routes include: Hayes Hall, Springwood Hall, Tom Raper Hall, and Whitewater Hall. Bring a friend and walk a loop as many times as you can!

  • Outdoor Walking Routes

    Employees are encouraged to walk the well-marked cross country track on campus. For those who prefer the even terrain of a sidewalk, we have a one-mile walking path and a half-mile walking path, marked with brick pavers, conveniently located for mind/body breaks throughout your day. Maps of the trails are also available in the Center for Health Promotion.


  • Reid Health Fitness Zone

    Use of Reid Health Fitness Zone is free for IU East employees. The modern facility offers a variety of strength training and brand new cardiovascular equipment. Fitness consultants are on hand to help you exercise safely and reach your fitness goals.
