Personal Resiliency Training
Participants attend all 3 Monday Sessions

Located in the Regenstrief Building, 2nd floor classroom (RF-209/210)
This experiential training offers evidence-based strategies to improve psychological health, vitality, and effectiveness at home and at work. Engaging session activities will focus on promoting self-awareness, identifying and pursuing valued goals and actions, and enhancing mindfulness and compassion for self and others.
Co-Facilitator: Shelley Johns, PsyD, ABPP
Dr. Johns is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in IU School of Medicine's Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and a board-certified clinical health psychologist. She is an appointed research scientist in the Center for Health Services Research at Regenstrief Institute, Inc. Her patient-oriented research primarily focuses on testing integrative mind-body interventions to reduce cancer-related fatigue and associated symptoms for post-treatment cancer survivors and improving adaptive coping and quality of life for adults with advanced-stage cancer and their family caregivers.
Dr. Beck-Coon is a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher and MBSR teacher trainer through the Center for Mindfulness in Health Care, Medicine, and Society at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine and an adjunct Assistant Professor in the IU School of Nursing’s Department of Community and Health Systems. Her research focus is integrating mindfulness and acceptance behavioral interventions in improving well-being in those living with a diagnosis of cancer, their families and healthcare providers.
